What We Hear in Berks. What We Do.

The concerns are real.
So are the answers.

My electric bill keeps climbing.

Rates rise when the utility decides, and nothing you pay builds toward anything.

HelloSun

We size your system against your actual Met-Ed or PPL rates and lock in your costs, with 1:1 net metering banking summer surplus for winter.

Out-of-town companies don't know our townships.

Permit and interconnection delays happen when the team doesn't know the local process.

HelloSun

We're based in Reading and handle Met-Ed and PPL interconnection and Berks township permits start to finish.

What happens to my roof, and who answers later?

Improper flashing leaks three winters later, and by then nobody's answering.

HelloSun

We do roofing too, so roof and solar happen under one contract, backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty.

★★★★★
"No pressure at all. The system runs flawlessly and our electric bill is basically gone except the Met-Ed customer charge. Wish we'd done it three years ago."

Berks County Solar FAQ

Local questions, straight answers.

How does net metering work here?

Most of Berks County is served by Met-Ed, with some areas on PPL. Both offer Pennsylvania's 1:1 net metering, so excess solar earns a one-for-one credit that banks month to month, with an annual cash true-up of any surplus.

How long does an install take?

Most projects run 60 to 90 days, mostly Met-Ed and township permit review, which we manage. The install itself is usually one to two days.

Are there incentives in Pennsylvania?

Yes. PA's SREC market pays you per megawatt-hour you produce, separate from net metering. Most homes earn 10 to 15 SRECs a year.
