Why We Exist

The solar industry grew fast.
Not always in the right direction.

Solar panels are marvelous pieces of technology, and solar energy systems work. However, the industry itself has failed. A lot of what passes for "solar companies" today are really just sales organizations — commissioned door-knockers who close deals and hand your project off to whichever installer is available at the lowest price. The results are poor builds and unhappy customers, savings projections built on false math, and a company that's moved on to the next zip code before you realize something went wrong. Accountability is an afterthought when the business model is built around the sale, not the system.

HelloSun was built to be the opposite of that. We're built on truth. We'll give you the real numbers. If your property isn't a good fit, we'll say so. Sacrificing our integrity to close a deal isn't how we do business. Our mission is to build real energy infrastructure, and stand behind our work long after commissioning. No inflated promises. No high-pressure close. No disappearing act.

Keith Sowell, Founder of HelloSun Energy

I'm Keith Sowell, founder of HelloSun. I'm a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Pennsylvania Army National Guard member. My military career took me into aerospace and aviation — environments where quality procedures aren't suggestions and checklists exist for a reason. When something fails, there is no ambiguity about who is responsible. That's the standard I grew up in professionally, and it's the only one I know how to operate by.

After aviation, I spent years in the roofing and solar industry. That experience gave me a ground-level understanding of how roof and solar systems are actually built — and where most solar companies create problems they never come back to fix.

I started HelloSun because I saw that the issues in the solar industry weren't caused by the technology, they were institutional. Solar technology really works and actually helps people when it's done the right way. HelloSun was built for that purpose. We are not a high-volume sales organization. We're an energy infrastructure company. We sell it, we design it, we install it, and we stand behind it. Our mission is simple: to give you choice, control, and a system that performs for decades. We don't measure success by how many deals we close. We measure it by how well our systems perform — and how well we serve the families who trust us.
